Happy Valentine's Day

Today was Nick's valentine's day party at preschool. We started signing valentines at 9:00 yesterday morning. I think we should have started at Christmas time. Nick likes to sign 3-4 cards, and take a break. When there are 35 valentines to be signed, folded, stickered, then stapled to the car notebooks we got for his classmates, that makes for a sssllllooooowww process.
Luckily, quality control got home from school and the assembly line sped up quite a bit.

Maddie couldn't keep herself away from those stickers. She'd make a trade -- one baby for one sheet of stickers. We're still finding parts of the stickers all over the place.

Funny little side story: this morning at 7:45, Cooper says he hopes there are lots of valentines in his folder that they made earlier in the week. What? Folder? Cooper, are you supposed to have valentines for your class? (The room mother had sent home a sheet a week ago looking for valentine day party supplies, so I thought we were off the hook for regular valentines). Because God loves us, we had valentines. Nick needed 35 cards for everyone who attends preschool. I've been complaining that Target sold their valentines in boxes of .... you guessed it.... 34. So we had a LOT of cards left over. Cooper signed 20 in about 5 minutes flat, and all was right with the world again. Another holiday success.

Ahhh, Ronda... dear child... this is only the beginning. Just wait until your little precious one tells you at 9:00pm on a Sunday that he (or she) needs you to run out to buy some posterboard, construction paper, and rubber cement** for a project that is due on Monday. That's when you find out that he/she has known about said project for 3 weeks, yet hasn't even begun working on it...
Get ready. It's coming.

**Hint: Having these items on hand would be really helpful.
